We increased window sizes in all the bedrooms- and planted a bamboo hedge to create more privacy for the bedrooms. Two large dormers, pushing the canyon-side wall out towards the pool and removing the partition between living and dining rooms doubled the volume of the space (see comparison photos). We opened the canyon side of the house up with glass.
